Phones and Internet Cafes on the Gold Coast

There is an Internet cafe on every street corner in the main tourist hubs of the Gold Coast, especially Surfers Paradise. Access is usually via a broadband (fast cable) connection and it shouldn't cost you more than a few dollars for an hour.

Public telephones aren't as popular as they used to be before mobile phones took over, but you'll still find a public phone booth on every third or fourth block in the main city areas. Call costs are generally 40c for a local call (unlimited time) and a few dollars for about 15mins to anywhere in Australia.

Call costs to overseas numbers will vary depending on where you are calling, International calls will cost upwards of 25c per minute and it's probably cheaper to use an International pre paid call card
